A 5000-foot brick building on a section of 16 perches at Bedford row was bought for £15,250 by P. Jamieson and Company, Dunedin, when two city properties, one at 119-121 Lichfield street and an adjoining building itn Bedford row, were offered for sale by public auction by Ford and Hadfield Ltd., on account of T. H. Green and Company Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr D. Chapman. The opening bid was £lO,OOO. There were 10 bids of £5OO, and one of £250. The Lichfield street property comprising a threestorey brick building of 19,300 square feet and a basement of 3875 square feet was passed in at £38,000. The initial bid was £35,000. There were six bids of £5OO.
