Brown, yesterday held seven catches—one off his own bowling—to equal the world record for the number of catches in an innings by a player other than a wicket-keeper. Brown was playing for his county against Nottinghamshire. The only other cricketer to have performed this feat is M. J. Stewart, of Surrey, also against Nottinghamshire, in 1957.
