SYDNEY, July 27. Australia's major export and producer missions have rejected proposals by British and Continental shipping conferences for implementing a freight increase of just over 7 per cent on Australian exports. The proposals were considered and rejected today by the Federal Exporters’ Overseas Transport Committee. This is the producer-

exporter organisation which negotiates with the shipping companies on freight rates. The shipping companies had asked for an over-all increase of just over 7 per cent, with refrigerated cargo at a higher rate and dry cargo, such as wool, at a lower differential. The committee said it was not prepared to accept the proposals of the shipping companies without a good deal more information.
