“No Fear Of Competition

(Parliamentarv Reporter) WELLINGTON, July 26. Straits Air Freight Express has no fear of competition from the Aramoana and Aranui, according to the annual report of the Civil Aviation Department, tabled in Parliament today. “It is expected that the company will have carried over 50,000 tons of freight during the year,** says the report. “The initial impact on its air-freight traffic caused by the road-rail ferry Aramoana has been overcome ... Although the two ships will make a total of 17 return crossings a week, it is not, under present conditions, expected that this will have any serious effect on the operations of S.A.F.E.”
