Many motorists at the week-end. had offered 2s in tolls, some had argued, and other had had to be pursued beyond the toll booths to get the extra 6d, Mr R. A. Witbrock, the chairman, said at the Christchurch • Lyttelton Road Tunnel Authority's meeting yesterday. The reduced charges, made possible by a grant from the National Roads Board, would not become effective until October 1.
