VAN HITS SHOP

John Wyndham Andrews, of 27 Bartlett street, driver of a delivery van, suffered head cuts and concussion when the van was involved in a collision with a car, careered across the road, jumped the footpath, hit a pram and smashed a shop window on the corner of Barbadoes street and Edgeware road yesterday afternoon. Mr Andrews was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital where his condition was reported to be satisfactory. The shop front and truck suffered considerable damage. The pram was also severely damaged. At 3.45 p.m., Lindsay Ray Smith, aged 18, of 39 Southey street, suffered head and leg injuries when his motor-cycle and a car collided outside 106 Blenheim road. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital where his condition was reported to be satisfactory.
