Sore Lions Replaced
(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH. Two changes have been made in the touring British Lions Rugby team to play Manawatu-Horowhenua at Palmerston North on Wednesday. The captain of the side, M. P. Weston, has been replaced by C. M. Gibson. Weston has a sore left leg. He did not practise at Palmerston North yesterday. The Welsh skipper, A. E. I. Pask, will now captain the team.
The Irish lock, W. J. McBride has been replaced by B. Price. Mcßride is suffering from a cut in the inside of his mouth, the result of a bash he received in the Canterbury game on Saturday. At practice the scrum-half, A. R. Lewis retired with a sore back. The team is:—D. Rutherford: A. J. W. Hinshelwood, K. F. Savage, D. K. Jones: S. J. Watkins, C. M. Gibson: A. R. Lewis; A. E. I. Pask (captain), N. A. A. Murphy, W. D. Thomas, B. Price, D. Grant; D. Williams, F. A. L. Laidlaw, D. L. Powell.
