Bright Chief and Master Defence paid £2O 16s 6d for £1 in the T.A.B. double at the Ohinemuri Jockey Club’s meeting at Ta Aroha on Saturday.
Bright Chief, which was handy all the way. beat Roganne by half a length in the first leg. the Paeroa Cup. Kurrewa was a close third. Captain Lancaster and Craddock led in the others. Master Defence led for the last five furlongs of six to win the Stewards’ Handicap easily from Wonderbar and Bottle Top. The meeting was held in fine weather. Although soft, the track was in excellent winter order. Btlultt:
