A team from Lees Valiev, Oxford, was placed second in the men’s open championship when the New Zealand tug-of-war titles were held by the Balclutha Tug-of-War Association during the week-end. Results: Men's Open: Maihoroa Brothers (Dunedin) 1, Lees Valley 2. Under 655 t.: Ashburton United 1. Southern 2. Men’s light-weight: Wattlea No. 2, Hastings 1; Kaik 2.
