GEIBERGER IN LEAD

Geiberger (United States) fired a two-under-par 68 on Saturday for a 54-hole score of 208 to take the lead after the third round of the Professional Golfers’ Association championship in Akron, Ohio. The closest foreign entry to Geiberger was G. Player (South Africa), who shot his second straight 70 for a three-round total of 213. Behind Player was B. Devlin (Australia), whose 71 score on Saturday gave him a total of 218. B. Crampton (Australia) shot a 74 for a total of 221 and B. Verwey (South Africa) fired a 74 for a 229 total. . The 26-year-old Geiberger’s main threat for the final round was D. Wysong, who has been a professional for three years. He shot the best round of the tournament—a 66 for 212.
