BURGLARIES AND THEFTS
Thieves Active At Week-end Ten burglaries and eight thefts were committed in Christchurch on Saturday and Sunday. A refrigerator, heater and vacuum cleaner, of a total value of £ll5, were stolen from a house in Kent street. Cash and property totalling £4O 10s were stolen from HillSkinner, Ltd., 154 Hereford street, and £35 in cash from the safe of Kinsey and Company, 154-156 Hereford street. Keys found on the premises were used to open the safe. Money and goods worth £l3 were stolen from the Hornby Pharmacy. The premises of Woolworths, Ltd., nearby were broken into and the lock of the safe interfered with. The sum of 24s was stolen from an office when the safe could not be opened. Blankets, sheets and clothing valued at £l7 were stolen from a house in Vancouver crescent, and clothing and cash totalling £l5 was taken from a house in Buccleugh street The sum of £4 10s was stolen from a flat in Charles A wallet and £29 in cash, £9 18s in cash, a rug valued at £2, and a radio were stolen in thefts from cars in the city.
