B.H.P. Expands Its Research
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, July 17. Broken Hill Proprietary has bought 25 acres of land near Monash University in the outer Melbourne suburbs for a new research establishment. The move is part of a general extension of the company’s research activities. B.H.P. is already spending about 2m dollars a year on research. It has works research laboratories at the Newcastle and Port Kembla steel plants in New South Wales and central research establishments at Shortland, New South Wales, and Whyalla, in South Australia.
