101 TODAY
CN.Z. Press HAMILTON, July 18. Mr Hori Paki, of Te Ohaki, near Huntly, will be 101 tomorrow. The planned celebration is described as a “private family affair” but if all his descendants arrive for the birthday party, there will be a huge crowd. He cannot remember how many grandchildren he has, but his nine children’s ages total 535 years. Mr Paki is an independent man who lives alone, cooks his own breakfast, washes his own dishes and cuts his own kindling for the fire. He still enjoys a cigarette, which he rolls himself.
