Funds Still Short (N Z. Press Assn.— Copyrlpht) SYDNEY. All 119 selected for Australia’s Empire Games team will fly to Jamaica this week, although a public appeal for Games funds is still about 8000 dollars (£3200) short of its target. The organising secretary of the Australian Games team, Mr J. Eve, said the appeal would remain open until and during next month’s Games so that donations could continue. The Australia-wide appeal target is 83,300 dollars £33,320). “We may have to arrange an overdraft, but I’m sure the full target will be reached,” Mr Eve said.
Hole-In-One. J. Thornley hoCed his tee shot it the 175vard fifth hole at the Rangiora golf course on Saturday.
