W. Indies, N.Z. In Joint Tour

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. The International Cricket Conference planned the West Indies’ next visit to England as a joint tour with New Zealand in 1969, the “Daily Sketch” reported.

There has been no official announcement so far of the conference's plans. The newspaper said the news was likely to cause a storm in the West Indies. Millions of fans there would rule it humiliating for the world champions to share a tour with the weakest of cricketing nations. South Africa would have a full tour in 1970, a reward

for winning the rubber in England last year.

If the West Indies would have shared tours then Australia, which would tour England in 1968, must be willing to come on the same terms, the newspaper said. West Indies were scheduled to be in Australia in the (southern) summer of 196869. The I.C.C.’s proposals had to be approved by the boards of each member country, and the West Indies could weil throw them out.
