Prams On Buses
Sir, —For the last four years I have been travelling on buses with young children and a pram. Although, I have travelled on different routes, with numerous drivers, I have yet to come in contact with one who has complained at all about my pram. In fact, they always seem to me to be particularly cheerful, many bf them helping my children on and off the bus. I certainly do not agree with the policy of banning prams on buses, and do not for one minute, think it will come into oper-
ation. The number of drivers who complain, I am sure, are in such a minority that they will be overruled. I am sure mothers have nothing to worry about. —Yours, etc., SATISFIED. July 16, 1966. Sir, —What does Norman Gray think that us “ignorant public” will say or do? It is a pity he is not a mother who struggles to town with a baby and tries to get on a bus feeling like Daniel going into the lions’ den, because of the moods of the drivers. My baby is blind and cannot walk, and I don’t go to town for a joy-ride. If Mr BushKing won’t tell us why this is being brought in, why does not Mr Gray?—Yours, etc., MOTHER OF FOUR. July 18, 1966.
