(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) CHICAGO, July 17, Some 2006 armed National Guardsmen are patrolling the streets of Chicago's Negro district to quell any renewed violence. They were called out on Friday after three successive nights of rioting and looting during which two persons died and scores more were injured. The presence of the Guardsmen has helped restore calm and only a few scattered outbreaks have been reported. During the worst racial outbreak Chicago has seen in decades, buildings and cars have been set alight, stores looted, and the demands of slum Negroes have been seen more clearly than before.
