SHELTERED WORKSHOP
Enrolment Highest Since Foundation
There had been an almost dramatic expansion of the Canterbury Sheltered Workshop this year, the secrets rv (Miss C. E. Robinson) said yesterday. In recent months the enrolment had almost doubled to reach 62. the highest In the eight years since the workshop was founded. Miss Robinson said that if the present rate of expansion continued, training time would have to be rationed. Larger premises were urgently needed. Miss Robinson said it had taken more than four years for the enrolment to reach 30 and that figure was higher than the committee had anticipated. Satisfactory industrial work had led to greater variety and quantity of contracts.
