Referees.— Mr J. M. R. Forsyth (Waikato) will referee the Lions Rugby match against North Auckland on July 9, and Mr L. C. Walker (South Canterbury) will referee their match against Buller-West Coast on July 20. Winning Start.— England made a satisfactory start to its World Cup warming-up soccer tour when it beat Finland 3-0 at Helsinki on Sunday night. In the first half the England forwards found it difficult to make any headway against the enthusiastic hard-tackling Finns and there was a sad lack of penetration in the attack, but they recovered well later.
