Casper Wins Again
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) CHICAGO. Billy Casper, who captured the United States Open championship last Monday, won the Western Open golf title in Chicago on Sunday. Casper had rounds of 69, 72, 72, 70 for a total of 283 to be the only man under par over the par-71 Medinah golf course. Casper went into the day's final round in a three-way tie with K. Venturi and K. Zarley at par 213, sharing second place behind T. Aaron, who was one under par. But Aaron was one over par on his first nine on Sunday and never became a contender. The faltering front runners left the way open for G. Brewer to match par with a 71 and win second place money with 286, three strokes behind Casper and another stroke in front of Aaron and Zarley.
West Coast Win.— The Otago men's hockey team was beaten. 1-2, by the touring West Coast side at Dunedin yesterday.
