High er Flour Production

Flour production in New Zealand increased by 11,872 short tons in 1964-65, says the Government Statistician (Mr J. V. T. Baker).

Grain mills produced 230,329 short tons Of flour, valued at £3,652,000, compared with 218,457 short tons, valued at £3,499,000, in the previous production year.

Wholemeal and wheatmeal production decreased from 9051 short tons to 8377 short tons, while bran at 31,317 short tons and pollard at 31,933 short tons in 1964-65 showed little change over the previous year.

The total value of production on the grain milling industry in 1964-65 was £7,242,000, compared with £6,842,000 in the previous year, and the volume of production was 4.6 per cent higher.
