AMERICANS’ STUDY TOUR

Party Of 87 Educationists (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 20. Auckland will receive 87 American educationists when the largest study party for many years arrives here on July 3 to see educational developments. The party will spend a week in Auckland, then visit Rotorua and Taupo before spending a week in Wellington and a week in Christchurch. The leader of the group is Dr. G. H. Read, professor of comparative education at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. He has organised similar parties to other countries, including Russia. He will lead 75 women and 11 men. They comprise a wide range of teachers in all fields, including some from teachers’ colleges and 15 university teachers. Visits to schools are being arranged for them by the Education Department and plans are also being made for as many as possible to be entertained in private homes.
