NEW GOLF COURSE

The par-three golf course being developed at Queen Elizabeth II Park would be named the Ascot links, the City Council decided last evening. The entrance is off Ascot avenue.

Reporting progress on the course, the parks and recreation committee said 10 greens had been sown. Most of the tees for these greens had been formed, but were awaiting soil and seed. Some initial work had been done on two other greens so that fairways could be completed to assist with the establishment of grass and the maintenance of the area.

A tender of £4397 by Harding and Vincent, Ltd., for water reticulation of the course was accepted by the council.
