Direct Link To y.Z. Planned (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, June 20. New Zealand and Australia would be able to see “live” Japanese television shows within four years. Sir Charles Moses, secretarygeneral of the Asian Broadcasters’ Union, said yesterday on his return from Tokyo. He said the Japanese were developing a satellite which would allow Japanese telecasts to be transmitted direct throughout South-east Asia. “The system will allow five programmes to be broadcast at one time,” he said. The union also planned an exchange of news items between nine of the 37 countries in the union. “This would be known as Asian News Magazine and telecast in the nine countries including Australia and New Zealand,” he said. An exchange of television farming films among countries of the union would also affect Australia and New Zealand.
