Back From Vietnam
(N.Z. Pres* Association) AUCKLAND, June 19. Major D. R. Henning, who has just relinquished command of the New Zealand artillery battery in Vietnam, returned to Auckland today by air. “The unit has done extremely well,” he said. It had been able to work even more effectively since the addition of two extra guns and 27 more men had brought it up to the same strength as the artillery units of other forces in Vietnam.
The battery, after establishing a new camp 40 miles south-east of Saigon, was supporting Australian forces clearing little by little an area long held by the Viet Cong.
