Information Wanted
The Winchmore irrigation research station of the Department of Agriculture Is Interested In assembling the history of Irrigation in Canterbury. The department, according to Mr P. D. Fitzgerald, a scientist at the station, is particularly Interested in obtaining information covering the period before 1935. Mr Fitzgerald has forwarded what he calls an outline of the history of irrigation in this period, the first part of which Is published today. The Rangitata diversion race was, incidentally, opened 21 years ago this week—on June 15, 1945.
