THIS MEMORIAL at Kirwee is to Colonel de Renzie Brett, a man who early in the history of Canterbury foresaw the possibilities of irrigation on the plains. This memorial is in recognition of his efforts in initiating the proposition for a water supply for the plains from the Kowai river.
