THIS 4FT HIGH KIWI, carved in ice, was the centrepiece of a banquet in Vancouver for members of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation’s trade mission now in North America. The banquet, sponsored by the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board, was attended by 150 guests. New Zealand lamb was a feature of the menu. The head chef at the Georgia Hotel is describing how he made the kiwi from ice to Mr A. P. O’Shea (left), the North American representative of the Meat Board, and Mr H. W. B. Patterson, leader of the mission.
