(From Our Rugby Reporter) The manager of the British Lions (Mr D. J. O’Brien) would not comment yesterday on reports by New Zealand journalists on excessive rough play by opposing teams. Mr O'Brien said that the Lions had played only two games in New Zealand and he would have to wait before he made any comment

He said that he felt that some journalists were trying to stimulate him into making comments on rough play. “Why did you wait until the Lions came here before attacking rough Rugby?” He was told by “The Press” that it had always strongly attacked rough play, at club, provincial and international level.
