OPTIMISM ON WOOL
Better Prices Forecast (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 16. The new wool season will open with firm prices and great confidence, the president of the International Wool Textile Organisation, Mr H. Schilling has predicted. This was announced today by the Wool Board. The 1.W.T.0. represents woolgrowers’ customers throughout the world. The world wanted more wool and this had been shown by the fact that this year’s clip and the carryover from last yegr, had been sold, Mr Schilling said before the opening of the organisation’s annual conference at Estoril, Portugal. He said he would not be surprised to see a rise in wool’s price, although he would not expect a return to the spectacular swings in prices. “Unless something unexpected happens the new wool season will open very firm and with confidence in prices,” he said.
