PUBLIC NOTICES AMURI COUNTY COUNCIL IN THE MATTER of Section 106 of the Counties Act, 1956, Public Notice is Hereby Given that the following estimate has been prepared and approved by the Amuri County Council for the period of 12 months commencing on the first day of April, 1966, and ending on the thirtyfirst day of March, 1967. (1) The proposed expenditure of the said council:— £ (a) On county roads and bridges . 84.930 (b) On State Highway 70 . . 17,750 (c) On fire protection 2,150 (d) On buildings, reserves and domains ..4 6,300 (e) On repayment of loans and advances 2,265 (f) On inspection, hydatid and noxious weeds control . . 5,050 (g) On administration, insurance, valuation rolls, etc. 8,055 (h) On contribution tion Nassella Tussock Board . 2,335 (1) On sundry works, grants and sundry payments .. 11,085 £139,920 (2) The sums available for the purpose abovementioned are: £ (a) Credit-in-aid . 7,605 (b) Subsidies and grants on roads and State Highway 70 .. 62,450 (c) Sundry receipts, rents, licence fees, etc. .. 16,065 (3) The additional sum required is £53,805. (4) The total rateable value of of the rateable properties on the valuation rolls is £7,588,335. (5) The general rate thereon necessary to raise the required sum is 1.75 d (Ud) in the pound.

Pursuant to sectinn 54 of the Rating Act, 1925, public notice is hereby given that in exercise of the powers conferred on the council at its ordinary meeting to be held at 1.30 p.m. on Friday, the first day of July, 1966, at the Council Chambers, Culverden, to make and levy the following rates and charges. (1) Under section 105 of the Counties Act, 1956, a general rate of 1.75 d (1.75 d in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property appearing on the valuation rolls of the Amuri county. (2) Under the Counties Amendment Act, 1961, and the Amuri county water race bylaw: (a) A Balmoral water race maintenance charge of .25d, .125 d and .06d in the pound on the capital value of classes A, B, and C lands respectively in the Balmoral water race district. (b) A Waiau Plains water race maintenance charge of one shilling and four pence (Is 4d) per acre on all rateable land in the Waiau Plains water race district. (3) Under section 113 of the Counties Act, 1956, a Waiau Hall maintenance rate of 0.0143 pence in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the Waiau and Lyndon ridings. (4) Under part X of the county by-laws, a charge of £1 10s for domestic and £3 for trade refuse removal in the Hanmer town area. (5) In exercise of the powers confered on it in respect to drainaeg and sanitation in the Hanmer town area, a charge of £1 per connexion with the Hanmer sewerage system. (6) In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 118 of the Counties Act, 1956, and in pursuance of part 22 of the county by-laws the following water supply and maintenance charges: (a) A charge of £1 on all lands to which water is supplied in the Hanmer water supply special area. (b) A charge of 10s on all lands to which water can be but is not supplied situated within 100 yards from any part of the water works in the Hanmer water supply special area. (c) An additional charge of Is 6d per 1000 gallons on all commercial lands and buildings in the Hanmer, Culverden and Waiau water supply special areas on a metered supply, for all water used in excess of 100,000 gallons per annum. (7) A Culverden Hall loan special rate of 0.07 pence in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the Pahau Riding. (8) A Hanmer Springs water supply loan special rate of .57 pence in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the Hanmer water supply special area. (9) A Hanmer Springs War Memorial Hall loan special rate of .08 pence in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the Hanmer riding. (10) A Waiau township water supply loan special rate of 1.2 d in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Waiau township water supply special area. This rate to be struck but nob collected, as an annual uniform charge of Water connexions from £l2 to £5O p.a. Sections to which water can be connected, £2 is to be collected to cover loan repayments and maintenance. (11) A Balmoral water supply loan No. 1 special rate of .58d, .29d, and .145 pence in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in class A, B and C lands respectively in the Balmoral water race district.

(12) A Balmoral water supply loan No. 2 special rate of .18d, .09d and .045 pence in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in class A, B, and C lands respectively in the Balmoral water race district. (13) A Balmoral water supply loan No. 3 special rate of .35d, .175 d and .09 pence in the pound on the capital value of alii rateable property in class A. B, and C lands respectively in the Balmoral water race district. Under section 53 of the Rating Act, 1925, the Balmoral water supply special area rates are to be amalgamated and will be as follows: 1.36 d, .68d and .37 pence in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in class A, B, and C lands respectively in the Balmoral water race area. (14) A Culverden township water supply loan rate of 1.184 d in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Culverden township water supply special area. This rateto be struck but not collected, as an annual uniform charge of Water connexions from £lO 10s to £B5. Sections to which water can be connected, £2 is to be collected to cover loan repayments and maintenance. (15) Marlborough Catchment Board administrative rate of one twelfth of a penny on all rateable land in the Marlborough Catchment Board district under the jurisdiction of the Amuri County Council. (16) Wairau Valley scheme rates of class A, .71d, class B, .39d, class C, .35d, class D, .27d, class E, .18d, class F, .07d in the pound on ail rateable land in the Wairau Valley scheme special rating area under the jurisdiction of the Amuri County Council.
