(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The 17-year-old Taranaki swimmer, Miss Taylor, enhanced her chances of being added to the New Zealand team to compete in the Empire Games at Jamaica when she further lowered her best time for 220 yards butterfly in a special time trial at Auckland last evening. Miss Taylor recorded 2min 45sec to reduce her previous best time by I.7sec. She has a time of 2min 47sec waiting ratification—as a short course record. Miss H. Kerr holds the New Zealand record with a time of 2min 43sec.
