Arson Suspected In Gisborne Fires
(N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE, June 13. Gisborne detectives are investigating two fires which broke out in the city within 48 hours. One razed an unoccupied bach tonight and the other damaged a house on Sunday morning. The Gisborne Chief Fire
Officer (Mr E. C. Smith) said the brigade regarded the house fire as arson. The second fire was shortly after seven o’clock tonight. When the brigade reached the scene six minutes after the call the building was ablaze from end to end. It collapsed within minutes.
