ENGINEER SURVEYORS AND SURVEYORS OF SHIPS HEAD OFFICE, MARINE DEPARTMENT, WELLINGTON SALARY RANGE is £1370 to £1955, with commencing salary according to qualifications and experience. Duties examination of plans and specifications of new ships, checking of survey reports, appraisal of designs of ships’ hull, machinery and equipment and other work associated with ships’-survey and/or examination of design of boilers, pressure vessels, lifts and cranes. Qualifications desired: minimum qualifications are First Class Marine Engineers Certificate for steam and motor ships with experience as a senior watchkeeper at sea.
