‘Apology, Apology... ’—‘Sorry’
The regular absence of some delegates from meetings of the Christchurch Bowling Centre was discussed at last evening’s meeting of the centre.
After the roll call, Mr H. B. Moore (Burwood) asked: “What is the position if we get ‘Apology, apology, apology’?” He said that some members were never at meetings, and I
asked If an apology “carried you through” continual absences. It was reported that the rules concerning continual absence were adhered to. The secretary, Mr J. Moffitt, read a letter which pointed out to the Lyttelton club that its delegate had attended only one meeting in 10. The delegate was accordingly no longer a representative on the centre. It was also pointed out that the Motukarara club had not been represented recently.
Notice of Motion.—Notice of a motion for tho annual general meeting was received from the Beckenham club. This proposed that the present three fours competition be discontinued and replaced by a four fours competition to be played on Saturday afternoons. No Power.—The New Zealand association advised that its administration committee had no power to take any action on mixed tournaments. The matter had been raised at the last centre meeting.
