Scouts To Retrace Explorer's Journey

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright) PRINCE GEORGE (British Columbia). A band of 25 boy scouts is making plans to set out on July 1 on a river trip to retrace the 800-mlle route used by the explorer, Simon Fraser, and the Nor-westers in their search for furs and a route to the Pacific. The boys will use four riverboats, powered by outboard motors, and three canoes. The trip will mark British Columbia’s centennial, but the scouts also hope to find the camps of Simon Fraser and recover some of the things left behind by the explorer in the early 1800’s.
