16 Bowlers Qualify
"The Press" Special Service INVERCARGILL. Christchurch players enjoyed some success when the qualifying rounds for the pairs title began at the national indoor bowls championships yesterday. There were 37 Christchurch pairs and 16 of them qualified for post-section play. The skips who qualified were: E. G. Ambrose, K. Beddie, G. Dalzell, J. Duncan, Mrs F. Harris, B. Loffhagen, P. Logan, R. Y. Morrison, P. Osborne, Mrs B. Penney, F. Perham, G. W. Taylor, E. Tebay, K. C. White, A. E. Williamson, and J. W. Woods. Qualifying rounds for the pairs will be completed this morning, and in the afternoon post-section play in the singles will begin More than 100 Christchurch bowlers are tacking part in the tournament.
