Four Injured On Roads
Four persons injured in road accidents .in Christchurch yesterday were admitted to hospital. Mr G. Petrie, of 23 Whitehall street, suffered head and internal injuries and a broken leg when a car and the motorcycle he was on collided outside 123 Avondale road about 5.43 p.m. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, where he was placed on the seriously ill list. Mrs G. K. Cordiner, of 387 Barbadoes street, suffered fairly serious head injuries and concussion when her cycle and a car collided at the corner of Madras and Peterborough streets about 5.40 p.m. Mr R. A. Lane, of 181 England street, suffered fairly serious head injuries and concussion when his motor-cycle and a car collided at the corner of England and Gloucester streets about 7.45 a.m. A power-cyclist, Mr H. Blokhuis, of 6 Neill street, suffered fairly serious injuries when he struck a tow rope between two cars near the comer of Blenheim road and Matipo street about 7.30 a.m.
