REFUSE TRUCK
Export To Australia A refuse vehicle is being made by Steel Bros., Addington Ltd., to sell on the Australian market. It is manufactured under licence from an English firm, Eagle Manufacturing Company, Ltd. As rubbish bins are emptied into the rear, two strong barriers crush and compress the refuse and push it forward. The sales director of the firm (Mr R. D. H. Steel) said that except for a small component, the body was 100 per cent New Zealand materials. One of the vehicles was driven to Lyttelton yesterday for shipment to Melbourne. Another is nearing completion for the Christchurch City Council.
