NEW POST OFFICE
A new post office was expected at North Avon before the end of the current financial year, the Chief Postmaster (Mr M. E. Wilson) said yesterday. He said various sites had been inspected but none had been chosen.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Works said the site for the post office had already been the subject of dispute. One site had been selected, but later rejected after a series of complaints to Mr H. J. Walker, Member of Parliament for St. Albans. “The department is still looking,’ the spokesman said.
