WELLINGTON, June 3. The Government was satisfied that building construction was continuing at a “very high level,” the Minister of Works (Mr Allen) said in Parliament today. “Both building programming and credit restraints are having some effect at reducing excess demands, but planned expansion of building activity in Government, local body and private sectors is anticipated to continue to strain the capacity of building resources,” he said. Fraser (Opp., St Kilda), he said the building programming regulations were necessary to ensure the most urgent needs of the community were reasonably met by “orderly utilisation of the limited resources available.” Trade Post

The Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Marshall) said New Zealand would establish a trade post in Brisbane within two or three months.

View In Vietnam

The Minister of Defence (Mr Eyre) said some of the New Zealand gunners in Vietnam had felt it important to make clear that they were fighting a just cause.

Opposition voices: Some .. . Mr Eyre: Inquiries confirm that some gunners in Vietnam recently expressed their views to the Press Association correspondent there, and apparently these views were supported by other personnel there.

Half-Cent Stamp

A half-cent postage stamp would be issued when decimal currency was introduced next year, said the PostmasterGeneral (Mr Scott).

Mr B. P. MacDonell (Opp., Dunedin Central) had asked if the • present 4d stamp would cost 4 cents (sd). Mr Scott said he believed the ideal conversion of a 4d stamp would be 3) cents.
