LECTURERS AND SENIOR LECTURERS CIVIL ENGINEERING (Two Vacancies) CHEMISTRY (Two Vacancies) SALARY: Lecturer —4800 do.lars-220 do:iars-6540 dollars. Senior Lecturer—6soo dol-lars-220 dollars-7600 dollars. (Salary wtthin these limits will be fixed having regard to qualifications and experience.) These salaries are quoted In Australian currency. Salaries commence from scheduled date of embarkation. The Commonwealth Superannuation Scheme applies io the academic staff at the College. DUTIES: (a) CIVIL ENGINEERING Conduct lectures, tutorials and laboratory classes at University standard. Research tn an appropriate field would also be expected of the successful applicants <b) CHEMISTRY. Conduct lectures and associated laboratory classes in the Applied Science Course (three years of Chemistry! and in terminal courses for Engineering and Arts Appointees are expected to conduct research in their specialisation. Research facilities exist In a number of fields including UV and 1R spectrophotometry, electrochemistry. atomic absorption and mass spectrometry. QUALIFICATION'S: (a) GENERAL. The minimum qualification for appointment as Lecturer in an honours degree in the appro prlate subject. Evidence of study or research and teach inc ’experience at tertiary level are essential for appointment as Senior Lee turer. tb) CIVIL ENGINEERING. At least three years’ professional experience desirable. Teaching and research interests to be stated. tc) CHEMISTRY. While appointments may be made in any field of Chemistry, there is a particular requirement for lecturers in (1) Physical; and (2) Organic Chemistry. CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY Applicants must be under 51 vears of age and must also be British subjects, eligible for permanent residence in Australia. and in good health. ACCOMMODATION: Temporary accommodation will be provided u|>on arrival in Canberra and appropriate allowance will be paid to married men until permanent houses are available. Some married accommodation is available at the College. TRAVEL: First-class fares from places of residence to Canberra for selected applicants and ther fami'Mes or approved depen dants.
