The net profit of the New Zealand Accumulation Trust for the year to April 14 was 25 per cent higher at £2325, the directors announced today. This represents a net return of I.Bd a unit, compared with the 1.5 d on last year’s net earnings of £1875. Taxation payable in the latest year was £221 and expenses totalled £470. An amount of £ll4 is carried forward. The directors state that the increase i. income reflected the higher dividends paid by several of the companies in the portfolio. One bonus issue (Consolidated Plastic Industries) was received and seven cash issues were taken up. At balance date the portfolio investments consisted of 57.27 per cent New Zealand - domiciled companies, 40.92 per cent Australiandomiciled, with cash resources making up the 1.81 per cent balance.
