Div. Lifted To 8 Per Cent
Group net profit of Deanes Industries, Christchurch, and its subsidiary, Deanes, Ltd., rose £7678 or 22.9 per cent to £41,245 for the year to March 31.
This result was reached after £3991 more for depreciation at £6807 and £5623 more for tax at £37,961. As previously reported, dividend has been raised from 7j per cent to 8 per cent.
Net profit represents 17 per cent on shareholders’ funds of £242,978 and 18.7 per cent on ordinary capital of £220,000. The chairman (Mr T. W. Perry) reports that 18,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and storage space was added this year.
Modern plant and equipment have been installed and the company is well equipped for mass production of its lines of industrial clothing.
