The Philippines and Malaysia formally signed Notes today making relations between them normal.
In a brief ceremony in the stately Luna Hall at the Philippine Foreign Office, the Malaysian Consul (All Bin Abdullah) and Ambassador Pablo Pena, of the Philippines, exchanged three sets of Notes.
One elevated the existing consulates to embassy level. The second agreed to the peaceful settlemen Of the Philippine claim to the Malaysian Borneo State of Sabah. In the third Malaysia agreed to help the Philippines combat smuggling from Borneo.
