BEEF PRICES DOWN
Prices to farmers for all classes of beef will be lower next week. For boner-type cattle the fall is up to 10s per 1001 b, and means that since mid-March f.a.q. cow, boner ox and heifer and boner cow have dropped by 35s per 1001 b, overfat boner cow, ox and heifer by 30s and boner bull by 15s. The prices which will operate next week are:—
G.A.Q. and f.a.q. ox beef: Up to 7401 b, 155 s per 1001 b (down ss); 7411 b to 8001 b, 150 s (down ss); over 8001 b, 135 s (down ss). G.A.Q. and f.a.q. heifer beef: Up to 5601 b, 145 s (down ss); 5611 b and over, 130 s (down ss). G.A.Q. cow: Up to 6001 b, 120 s (down ss); 6011 b and over, 105 s (down ss). F.A.Q. cow: Al* weights, 112 s 6d (down 10s); boner ox and heifer, all weights, 112 s 6d (down 10s); overfat boner cow, ox and heifer, all weights, 67s 6d (down ss); boner cow, all weights, 112 s 6d (down 10s); and boner bull, all weights, 137 s 6d (down 10s).
