ONE OF THE SERIES of tests to which sample models of the new range of Ford agricultural tractors were submitted by engineers. In a deep-freeze room temperatures were reduced to 20 degrees below zero to test for cold starts. As well, the tractors were boiled and frozen under a variety of test conditions to determine how well water, oil and fuel systems performed under the most rigorous conditions. Transmissions, differentials and gear systems were also put under heavy stress.
