Imprisoned For Manslaughter
(N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 27. A sentence of seven years’ imprisonment for the manslaughter of his wife was imposed on Te Aroa Pureau. aged 28, a slaughterman, by the Chief Justice (Sir Richard Wild) today. Pureau was originally charged with the murder on March 28 of his wife, Ngamata Pureau. On the application of the Crown, the charge was later altered to one of manslaughter, to which he pleaded guilty.
