Applicants must have experience in snow and ice techniques, with search and rescue experience in alpine areas. Of the seven Field Leaders and Assistants two will be selected during the summer to winter over. GENERAL (1) All applicants are to state fully qualifications and experience for the position applied for. (2) Selected applicants are required to undergo a medical examination prior to appointment. (3) An Antarctic Allowance payable in addition to salary is as follows: Married Men Single Men Wintering over £5OO a year £275 a year Summer £350 a year £2OC a year (4) Appointee will be quartered, fed, and outfitted with essential cold weather clothing and special Antarctic clothing. (5) Special training courses are arranged for appointees prior to leaving New Zealand.
