Driver Injured
Mr M. Malzard, of 42 Randall street, suffered head and leg injuries when he swerved the van he was driving to avoid a pedestrian and hit a pole near the corner of Stanmore road and Haast street about 5.50 p.m. yesterday. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. His condition late last evening was serious.
